What Fosfomycin Trometamol is used for
Fosfomycin Trometamol is used to treat uncomplicated urinary infections in women caused by bacteria susceptible to Fosfosmycin.
Do not take Fosfomycin Trometamol
• If you’re allergic to the active substances or any other component of this medicine.
Warnings and precautions:
Talk to your doctor about all your medical conditions before taking this medicine including:
• If you have had severe diarrhea caused by antibiotic use.
Possible side effects
Stop using this product and seek immediate medical help if you develop rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Very Common side effects:
• Diarrhea
• Nausea
• Headache
• Stomach upset
• Vaginal itching and discharge
Other medicines and Fosfomycin Trometamol
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking.
• Fosfomycin Trometarol should not be taken with the medicine Metoclopramide.
How to take Fosfomycin Trometamol
• Do not use in children younger than 12 years of age.
• Take as indicated by your doctor.
• Mix the granules with 1/2 cup of water and drink it right away. Do not use hot water.
• The recommended dose is one sachet of 3g orally as a single dose.
How to store Fosfomycin Trometamol
• Store at room temperature 68 to 77°F (20 to 25°C) in a dry place.
• Keep this medicine out of reach of children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
