ADOL Cold caplets, is indicated for the fast effective temporary relief of the symptoms of cold & flu, including nasal congestion, sore throat, cough, aches, pain, and fever.
Adol Cold contains 3 active ingredients:
- Paracetamol 325 mg, produces analgesia by elevating the pain threshold centrally and antipyresis through an action on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center
- Pseudoephedrine HCl 30 mg, a decongestant, which provides temporary relief of nasal congestion making it easier to breathe.
- Dextromethorphan 15 mg, a centrally acting cough suppressant which is effective in relieving the cough that may accompany the common cold due to throat irritation.
Dosage & Administration:
Adol cold is indicated for adults and children older than 6 years old & formed as caplets for easier swallowing. The general dose for adults and children over 12 years is 2 caplets every 6 hours (maximum 8 caplets per day). Children 6-12 years old; 1 caplet every 6 hours (maximum 4 caplets per day)
Do Not take Adol Cold caplets if you have:
- An allergy to any of the ingredients
- Very high uncontrolled blood pressure
- Kidney problems
- Severe coronary artery disease
- Children under 6 years old
- pregnant
- Taken MAO inhibitors in the last 2 weeks
- Have asthma attack
Before Prescribing Adol Cold, remember the following:
- Check if the patient has any medical problem; hypertension, diabetes, kidney /liver/ respiratory/ prostate/ thyroid problems, glaucoma, epilepsy, etc.
- Check if the patient is using any other medications: check for drug-drug interactions
- Check for the presence of any allergies
- This medication may cause dizziness in some patients, patients should take care if they drive or operate heavy machines.
- It may cause some minor side effects, if you experience any serious side effects, patients need to be referred to their doctor.
- Store this medication at room temperature, in a dry place, protected from light and away from children.
- Pseudoephedrine carries the risk of abuse; continuous use can lead to tolerance and increased doses may cause cardiovascular and CNS toxicity.
