Mechanism Of Action Of Fusidic Acid-Betamethasone Cream
Fusidic Acid-Betamethasone contains two different types of medicine. One medicine is called fusidic acid. It is a type of antibiotic.
The other medicine is called betamethasone. It is a type of corticosteroid (steroid). These two medicines work at the same time in different ways.
The antibiotic kills germs (bacteria) that cause infections.
The corticosteroid reduces any swelling, redness, or itchiness of your skin.
Therapeutic Indications Of Fusizone Cream
It is used to treat conditions where the skin is inflamed (eczema or dermatitis) and also infected by bacteria.
Method Of Administration Of Fusizone Cream
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose:
It is usually recommended that you use this medicine twice daily.
Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
Undesirable Side Effects Of Fusizone Cream
Although the following side effects are not common in everyone, some patients may complain from:
Skin irritation
Burning feeling
Itching
Worsening of your eczema
Stinging feeling
Skin redness
Stop using this product and seek immediate medical help if you develop a rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Precautions While Taking Fusizone Cream
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Your doctor will discuss the possible risks and benefits of using this medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Warnings & Special Precautions while Taking Fusizone Cream
Talk to your doctor about all your medical conditions before taking this medicine.
Take special care if you are going to use this medicine near your eyes.
If you use the cream for a long time or in large amounts you may experience side effects or the bacteria may no longer be killed by the antibiotic.
Do not use the medicine for a long time on your face.
Storage Conditions Of Fusizone Cream
Store below 25°c
Don’t refrigerate
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Store in the original package to protect from moisture.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
