Mechanism Of Action Of Amoxicillin
Penicillin kills bacteria through binding of the beta-lactam ring to transpeptidase, inhibiting its cross-linking activity and preventing new cell wall formation. Without a cell wall, a bacterial cell is vulnerable to outside water and molecular pressures, which causes the cell to quickly die.
Amoxicillin is similar to penicillin in its bactericidal action
Therapeutic Indications Of Julphamox 500 Mg Capsules
It is used to treat infections caused by bacteria in different parts of the body.
It may also be used in combination with other medicines to treat stomach ulcers
Method Of Administration Of Julphamox 500 Mg Capsules
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Swallow with water
Space the doses evenly during the day, at least 4 hours apart.
Children weighing less than 40 kg:
The usual dose is 40 mg to 90 mg for each kilogram of body weight a day, given in two or three divided doses.
The maximum recommended dose is 100 mg for each kilogram of body weight a day.
Adults, elderly patients and children weighing 40 kg or more:
The usual dose of Amoxicillin Capsules is 250 mg to 500 mg three times a day or 750 mg to 1 g every 12 hours, depending on the severity and type of infection.
The maximum recommended dose is 6 g per day.
Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
Undesirable Side Effects Of Julphamox 500 Mg Capsules
Although the following side effects are not common in everyone, some patients may complain from:
Allergic reactions, the signs may include: skin itching or rash, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, body or breathing difficulties
Nausea
Diarrhea
Other severe skin reactions can include: changes in skin color, bumps under the skin, blistering, pustules, peeling, redness, pain, itching, scaling.
Flu-like symptoms with a rash, fever, swollen glands, and abnormal blood test results.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Precautions While Taking Julphamox 500 Mg Capsules
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Your doctor will discuss the possible risks and benefits of using this medicine during pregnancy and breast-feeding
