Mechanism of action of Lidocaine

  • Lidocaine can block Na+ and K+ ion channels and regulate intracellular and extracellular calcium concentrations through other ligand-gated ion channels.

  • Lidocaine was the first sodium channel blocker to be identified.

  • Its main mechanism of action is blocking voltage-gated Na+ channels

Therapeutic Indications of Ledo

  • Local Anesthetic

Method of Administration of Ledo

  • Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
  • If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
  • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
  • Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

Undesirable Side Effects of Ledo

  • Although the following side effects are not common in everyone, some patients may complain from:
  • Bluish-colored lips, fingernails, or palms blurred or double vision.
  • chest pain or discomfort.
  • cold, clammy, pale skin.
  • continuing ringing or buzzing or other unexplained noise in the ears.
  • difficulty breathing.
  • difficulty swallowing.
  • dizziness or lightheadedness.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Precautions While Taking Ledo

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
  • Your doctor will discuss the possible risks and benefits of using this medicine during pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Non-Pharmacological Treatments & Advices

  • Get enough sleep, Sleep and immunity are closely tied.
  • Eat more whole plant foods & healthy fats.
  • Eat more fermented foods.
  • Limit added sugars.
  • Engage in moderate exercise.
  • Stay hydrated.
  • Manage your stress levels.

Warnings & Special Precautions while Taking Ledo

  • Do not chew gum or food while your mouth or throat feels numb after you use this medicine.
  • You may accidentally bite your tongue or the inside of your cheeks.
  • Heat can cause the lidocaine in the patch to be absorbed into your body faster. This may increase the chance of serious side effects or an overdose.

Storage Conditions of Ledo

  • Store below 25.
  • Don’t freeze.
  • Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
  • Store in the original package to protect from moisture.
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label. 
  • The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
