- Metronidazole is an antiprotozoal, antibacterial agent.
- It acts by causing damage in the DNA which leads to cell death.
Therapeutic Indications Of Negazole 500 Mg Tablets
- It may be used, under medical supervision, to treat:
- Infections, caused by bacteria.
- Urinary or genital infections caused by a parasite, Trichomonas
- Genital infection in women caused by bacteria
- The parasitic diseases amoebiasis
- Gum and teeth infections
- Infected leg ulcers
- Stomach ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori.
- Prevention of infections occurring after operations.
Method Of Administration Of Negazole 500 Mg Tablets
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
- Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Doses may change from patient to patient based on your age, your medical condition, and whether or not you are taking other medicines.
- Continue taking your medicine for as long as your doctor tells you.
- Do not stop taking the medicine or lower the dose without first checking with your doctor.
- You should not be crush or chew the tablets
- The usual dose is:
- For adults: 0.5 g/day to 1.5 g/day or as directed by the physician.
- For children: 250 mg/day to 20-40 mg/kg/day or as directed by the physician.
- Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
