What Cinnarizine is used for
Cinnarizine is used to treat poor blood flow to the limbs and disorders where there is spasm of blood vessels such as Reynaud’s disease.
Do not take Cinnarizine
• If you’re allergic to the active substances or any other component of this medicine.
• If the child is under the age of 5 years.
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor about all your medical conditions before taking this drug including:
• If you have porphyria (a hereditary blood disorder).
• If you have Parkinson’s disease.
• If you have liver or kidney problems.
This medicine contains lactose and sucrose. Tell your doctor if you are intolerant.
This medicine may affect skin allergy tests up to 4 days after taking it.
Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Possible side effects
Stop using this product and seek immediate medical help if you develop rash; hives; blisters; itching; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Common side effects:
• Drowsiness
• Nausea
• Weight gain
Other medicines and Cinnarizine
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking.
• Tranquilizers, sedatives and tricyclic antidepressants increase the drowsiness caused by this medicine.
How to take Cinnarizine
• This medicine is intended for adults and children older than 5 years of age.
• Take this medicine as indicated by your doctor.
• Take after food to avoid stomach discomfort.
• The usual dosing is 1-2 tablets.
• For motion sickness, take it 2 hours before travelling.
• For vascular disorders, take it 2-3 times daily.
How to store Cinnarizine
• Store at room temperature 68 to 77°F (20 to 25°C).
• Keep this medicine out of reach of children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
