Mechanism Of Action Of Lubricant Eye Drops

• Lubricant Eye Drops moisturize the eye by multiple mechanisms including a lubricating action and replacement of certain missing tear constituents.
• Also, it may dilute inflammatory substances

Therapeutic Indications Of Vismed Lubricant Vials

• This medication is used to relieve dry, irritated eyes
• Common causes for dry eyes include wind, sun, heating/air conditioning, computer use/reading, and certain medications.
• It may also be used to treat dry eye caused by the use of contact lenses.

Method Of Administration Of Vismed Lubricant Vials

• Eye preparation are usually sterile, so ensure that the container is not damaged before use and also replace the cap after taking your dose (In case of using a single-use dose unit, throw the used unit away after using them)
• Tilt your head back a little and look up.
• pull your lower eyelid down
• With the other hand, hold the eye drop bottle upside down near to your eye. Try not to touch your eye as you do this.
• Apply enough pressure to release one drop (or vial contents) into your eye.
• Ensure that the medication entered your eye
• Close your eye for a minute or two, and press gently on the side of your nose, this prevents the loss of your eye drops and keeps the drug where it should be.
• Recommended dose is 1 or 2 drops (or vials) in the affected eye(s) as needed.
• Higher dose may be prescribed in cases of severe dryness
• Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure about how to use this medication
• Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
• If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
• If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
• Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

3. If you experience eye irritation or redness that is getting worse or that persists for more than 72 hours.

• Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medications including over-the-counter non-prescription medicines, prescription medicines, herbal supplements, vitamins, and supplements.

Storage Conditions Of Vismed Lubricant Vials

• Store below 25°c
• Don’t refrigerate the unopened container
• Not to be used for more than 28 days after opening the container, unless otherwise is advised by your pharmacist.
• Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
• Store in the original package to protect from moisture.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
