Gatifloxacin 0.5% ophthalmic solution
What Gatifloxacin is used for :
Gatifloxacin is used to treat eye infections caused by bacteria susceptible to this medicine’s action.
Do not use Gatifloxacin
• If you’re allergic to the active substance Gatifloxacin, to other quinolone antibiotics, or any other component of this medicine.
Warnings & Precautions :
• Talk to your doctor about all your medical conditions before taking this medicine.
• Do not use this medicine for longer than recommended, a second infection may happen.
• Avoid wearing contact lenses while being treated with this medicine.
Possible Side Effects :
Stop using this product and seek immediate medical help if you develop rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Common Side Effects:
• Eye irritation
• Eye pain
• Change in taste
• Tears in eyes

How to use Gatifloxacin
• Do not use this medicine on children below 1 year of age.
• This medicine is intended for the eyes only.
• Use as indicted by your doctor.
• Look up, pull down your lower lid and instill the drop. Put pressure on the inside corner of the eye for 1 minute.
• For the 0.5% drops, instill 1 drop every 2 hours (up to 8 times) on day 1, then 1 drop 4 times daily on days 2 to 7.
How to store Gatifloxacin :
• Store at room temperature 68 to 77°F (20 to 25°C).
• Keep this medicine out of reach of children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
